Prey

Recently, I’d read a lot of fanfic (fanfic, u know what is it? Fiction from fans, got it?) Some of them talking about someone’s running away from another one & what happen when he/she had been tracked down. These scenes keep running in my mind plus I’m in a stage of “thinking too much” (though I ALWAYS think too much) so I write it down. & what is the really crazy thing is I WRITE IN ENGLISH!! My English is not that good ya know, so please bear my typo & grammar error & use of weird words. ^_^;


Prey

“Um. Ok. See you then…Ok. Bye.” I hang up the phone & go back to the kitchen to clean up the mess I had made for the present of Jimmy’s birthday. He is one of my best friend.

…I know its weird to use “one of” to “best friend” but…Okay, he is the best friend of mine now.

I really don’t like to say a friend as a “best friend” because it scare me still, although its been five years from now.


Five years ago, when I’m still in the college, I had shared an apartment with 3 schoolmates to save rent. We’ve been happy together (well, kids are happy always) till I found out there is something about him. It scares me so much that I think I had to leave him.

Maybe you can said I’m being cranky about that but how can a guy live under the stare of a hungry snake, oh no, he’s not a snake, he’s like a wolf more. A really hungry wolf that don’t mind to have a little hare for meal instead of finding a bigger prey.

I made the graduation as the chance for my leave.

“They told me you’ve got a job at Osaka.” He said.
“Yea.” I lean to the doorframe and lowering my head, avoiding to have direct eye contact with him.
“Why? Why you have to go that far? You can have a job here easily.”
“Yea.”
“Then why?”
I can feel he’s staring at me. But I can’t give him the answer, told him: Because I’m running away from you. I don’t want to be the steak on your dish.? That’s just crazy! If I do that I’m just ask for a firm fist to give a kiss to my face or stomach & a yell of “How dare you treat me as a man-eating beast?!” by his bad temper. But what will it be? If I don’t answer him.
The silence last for few seconds, then he said, “When will you leave?”
“Tonight.”
“…’k. Take care.” He whispered.
Then I heard him walk away.

“Ding-Dong. Ding-Dong.”

The ringing doorbell pulls me back from the train of my thought. “Coming!” I said as I run to the door.

I was frozen when I open it. He’s standing in front of me. I thought I’ll not be surprised if he found me as he had the intelligence & skill to become a top ranking hacker when we were collegers still. But I just froze when I see him again.

He put a hand on the door to prevent me from slamming the door on his face. He knows I will certainly do that if he do not stop me from the very beginning.


…I have no choice but let him in.

Forcing a smile on my face & say, “Mind coming in & have a cup of coffee?”

He just nodded & walk in. He hasn’t changed too much from my memory, a tall, firm guy with a pair of very intensive brown eyes.



“Still like black coffee?” I pass the mug to him & settle myself on the couch across.

He said nothing, just staring into the pool of dark liquid.

The silence is getting on me & I’d became nervous of being alone with him, “It’s been a long time.” I said, “How are you & the guys?”

“We’re fine.”

Silence again.

Before I became irritated by the silence again, he said, “I wanted to know why?”

“Hm?”

“I wanted to know why you leave.”

I tried to make myself ease on my tone, “You know that, I’ve got a job”

He cuts me off, “But you keep changing your job & address. Why?”

“You’ve track on me!” I’ve got raged. As I said I’m not surprised of being found but he is tracking on me! Shit! “How dare you!”

“I just concern”

This time, I cut him off, “What kind of concern there is to make you track on me? Hm?”

There is no respond from him, he just look at me, open & close his mouth trying to say something but fail.

I go on, I think I’m a bit out of control but I don’t care, “You want the reason for my leaving? Okay! You’ll have it! Then get the hell out of my home & I don’t want to see you any more!”

I take a deep breath then continue, “I leave is because I want to get rid of you!”

“Me?” He look confused.

“Yes! Its YOU!”

“Wha… what I’ve done that made you”

“You made me feel like I’m a prey of you. I don’t know when I’ll be eaten!”

“I don’t meant to…”

It is me to be the one who glare this time. I can found that he is in lost of words, not losing any chance, “You got your answer now. Then get”

“Because I did want you & want you still.” He said quietly.

“What?”

He look into my eyes then repeat, “I said I want you & I want you so much that I will do ANYTHING! No matter that is tracking you or sneaking behind you.”

“You’re insane!” I back off from him.

He put the mug on the small tea table, “I did everything to make myself forget you after you leave. But I failed.” He said calmly, “Now, I’ll do everything to claim you back.”

“I’d never been yours!” I shout then back up further.

I found myself shivering, embracing myself as tight as I can.

“But I’ll not push you. You’re being hyper now.” He placed a small card on the table before standing up, “Here is my contact. Please call me when you feel able for a talk.”

When he is on his way towards the door, he whisper into my ear, “Remember my love.”


After the door shut behind me, I fell to my knee & started crying, “…help me…someone, please help me…”

Whao haha! Finished! I know its suck. But its my first fiction in English, ok?

Um…yeah, you can found that the “he” is a bad guy. Bad temper, violence (hit people in face/ stomach…), an insane sneaker…poor “I”, would someone help him/her? …but do you think that the “I” is an insane also? Its react is … weird…

Oh yes! As you know, this fiction is in the section of “You, Me, Him” (strange translation. Hm?) So, is the “he” really a guy? Or the “I” is a gal? Its up to your imagination… ^_<
